I’ve just come upon a realization that most children’s book lead star are motherless. Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel the little mermaid & Belle of Beauty and the Beast were all motherless. Dumbo, Bambi & Little Foot of the land before time were also motherless. Be it a human or animal in nature, it seems that story tellers have discovered this “Motherless” approach to give their characters hero status.
